You may renew your license by mail or online using the following links:
Late Renewal
Beginning February 1, 2026, a late fee of $75 must be paid in addition to the $200 renewal fee. Late renewal requests are not available electronically. In order to renew between February 1 and February 28, 2026, mail a paper renewal form with a renewal fee in the total amount of $275. (NRS 642.0696)
Late renewals are due on or before the last calendar day in February. License renewals will not be accepted beginning March 1. Nonrenewed licenses will expire (lapse) with a retroactive effective date of December 31, 2025. A licensee with an expired license may not conduct business for which a license is required until the license is reinstated, or the licensee reapplies for a license.
Reinstating a Lapsed License
An individual may reinstate a lapsed license within 3 years from the date the license lapsed. (NRS 642.440) The fee to reinstate is $300. Please contact the office for reinstatement forms and instructions.
After 3 years from the date of the lapse, the individual must apply for a license as a new applicant, unless the license has been placed on inactive status. (NRS 642.114)
Placing a License on Inactive Status
A funeral arranger, funeral director, or an embalmer who wishes to place a license on inactive status may submit a Request for Inactive License Status. Once a license is placed on inactive status, the licensee is no longer authorized to practice the profession of funeral directing, funeral arranging, or embalming until a request to reactivate the license has been approved by the Board.
